Nature

There is an endless choice of activities, beginning with walking and cycling from the door of the house.  Gliding, hang-gliding, paragliding, canoeing, golf, tennis, horse & donkey trekking, markets, caves to explore and an adventure park as well as clear river swimming, are all close by.

There is also the Haribo sweet factory in Uzes.  St Ambroix and Uzes are worthy of a visit, especially for the markets selling country produce, Provencal pottery and lace.  Uzes is one of the most attractive towns in France - preserved from being ruined by not being on a major route. Its narrow lanes, renaissance houses and arcades are very pretty.

NIMES
Historic Nimes is what draws the crowds centring on the two storey Roman arena, Les Arenes. All the roads seem to lead to this imposing edifice which seats 20,000 spectators and is the premier side for bull fighting outside Spain. The venue is also used for concerts.
